Im doing a KA swap into a 97 kouki that currently has an s13 red top in it. The ka going in is from a 1995 obd1 s14. my question is, what do i have to swap the 1995 zenki s14 swap into the kouki, converting it to obd1. its currently obd1 now im guessing because of the s13 sr, but when it comes to the obd1-2 stuff i dont really know much.

so what i need to know is what do i need to do to swap a complete 1995 s14 obd1 ka into an 1997 kouki? USING all of the 1995 obd1 stuff. mind you the car currently has an s13 red top in it.

any help would be much appreciated
thanks

if u wanna put the ka back in the 97 u have to used the 96 n up harness cause of the extra plugs, ecu(obd2)n the intake manifold of an ob2, it has more crap on there than the 95(obd1) reason y u need the harness.. i not sure what else but of what i now so far.. maybe someone else will chimme on this..gl..

well, i figured, if i used a 1995 s14 harness and motor and ECU, will that not be able to work? i was concerned about the differences in the interior plug between the 97 chassis and 95, if there are any. Since the s13 SR is in there now, im assuming that everything obd2 has been pretty much deleted for the most part, if im not correct. but there's that chassis harness. and yeah i know the 97 has more plugs on the harness and more places in the Engine bay for those to plug up to, but the sr wouldn't be plugged up to any of the extras, since an s13 sr into a 97 is about the same as an s13sr in a 95.

i know this is a rarish question lol who wants to backwards convert a kouki? except for me

i belive interior plugs stay the same, u can use the 95 ecu, harness,motor.. i dont know how emission are were ur at but i know down here they plug it in to the computer for emissions.. if they do the same at ur area then it wont work but if they dont or somehow u got a way around it, well it dosnt matter. it should work..

Well there are guys who prefer the ODB1, so see if you can trade ECU's harnesses, intakes, and other parts.
