2008 Rogue triggered OBDII code P2000. So I replaced the Air/Fuel sensor with a new Denso "California" one since my wife's car is "50 state compliant" and has a California compliant sticker under the hood. The California A/F sensor is $15 more than the non-CA sensor but during installation I find that this California compliant car was factory-fitted with a "Exc-California" sensor; the difference is the electrical plug alignment lugs (photos on Densoaftermarket.com)--the actual plug electrical pins and socket are aligned the same so one can use a razor and trim the Calif. plug housing to fit the cars socket, cut the old plug off of the old sensor and splice it on to the new sensor, or save $15 and get what is called the "Exc-Calif" sensor but which appears to be functionally exactly the same sensor just fitted with a different plug housing. The big question is if they are the same except for the connector alignment lugs why sell two different ones unless it is to soak the Californian's out of an extra $15 of 100% profit? I don't appreciate being lied to or cheated; but hey, that's just me. Before you order parts, check the alignment plug pattern carefully on the original. My OBDII reader is now all green lights & happy. Stealership wanted $450 for the job. FWIW OE sensor was a Denso.
