I have been looking on ebay for an old style OBD cable/connector (Rectangle, 14 pin) but can only find the OBD2 style cables ("D" plug shape... looks like more pins than 14)

Does anyone know where i can get one so I can hook up a laptop to the Q (or r32 skyline :p) and check codes and diagnostics...?

I checked the search but came up empty....

help.... pwease???

i need the bottom one (grey)I will get the top one too if available (OBD2)

If you click on "products" then "extras" in the left column, the connector should be the second image on the new page.

Hope this helps

Once, a friend of mine took his (obd) Corolla to Autozone to get the codes checked, and the idiot at the store left the adapter for the scanner in the car--which my friend didn't even notice until a day or two later.

It's called Nissan Consult.

http://www.plmsdevelopments.com makes one, so do I (but you'd be better off getting an Aussie one).

Unfortunately more complicated than a simple cable.

Oh dear. Now I am confused....

Does that mean the blaZt one wont work, because it doesn't have the interface module inline on the cable?

Or are these cables the same sort of thing?

I suppose the australian built one would be better for me because if it doesnt work properly, the product support is local...

Thanks for the pointer.

That serial one on the blizat.biz site is the one you want. If you look at the one picture on their site, you can see the CONSULT->RS232 converter board is built into the DSUB-9 connector housing.
