33 is exhaust gas sensor (Oxygen sensor). Just because you get that code doesnt mean your o2 sensor is bad. The FSM says to check harness and connector, the sensor itself, fuel pressure, injectors, and intake air leaks.

I would assume the same engine has the same ecu, with the same codes, but that doesnt mean anything.

well, the sensor WAS replaced like 10,000 miles ago... but i keep smelling fuel every once in a while. i thought it was my charcoal canister or something. But here tell me, the engine keeps stalling after i pull it out of gear and sometimes idles up and down, mostly up around 1500 and unstable. the timing chain needs replacement too, but i hope someone might have an answer.

Mine used to stall when I would take it out of gear. I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body, and it hasnt stalled since. I think it was mostly the fuel filter causing the problem.

well ive done all that with my last major tuneup at about the same time... so im at a loss. But i did jiggle the wire a little to see if the idle stabled out a little, and i think it did. anyway im gonna check the wiring with my ampprobe when i get a chance.
