It wont hurt anything , All it will do is retard the Timing.
And to replace the Knock sensor in its original position requires pulling the Plenum.
Not an easy task.
Many have relocated it.
Search for that topic and you will see where some have mounted it.

ok here is what i have found so far
1.) Purchase new knock sensor& cable
2.) On top of the plenum next to the throttle and ASCD cables there will be a connector that looks exactly like the mating end of your new cable; disconnect the old cable and connect the new one. (The knock sensor is located about 8" below the plenum itself so the only way to get to it is by either removing the plenum and everything attached to it or by pulling the motor and getting at it from the rear [firewall side]). However, you can relocate the sensor on top of the motor as long as it is SOLIDLY mounted to the engine itself. No zip ties or something silly like that.
but i cant find the cable for sale anywhere i was thinkin of goin to a u pull it junk yard and getting the cable
where and how is the best place to mount it on top of the motor????
any pics would be a huge help :bigthumb:

slight temp fix is to put a 1 megaohm resistor in the plug for the knock sensor.
