There is a politics forum. Use it. Cause I'm sick of talking politics with people.

No, what I think that seems weird is that the Obama's campaigning hasnt stopped. He won the Presidency and the campaigning still goes on. The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't expect the Democrat Majority in the House and Senate to go along with his vision of this country and is trying to get the people on his side. Either that or he is starting to run for re-election in 2012.bud

As he settles into the job I expect he will discover a need to veer towards the center and he will lose support by the hard lefties. The hard right might back him thinking he is coming all the way over but that will fade too when they realize it is not a complete shift.

I was annoyed for the past 8 years... Dry promises, Lack of communication, Lies, Mis-leading info, Greed, Lies, Greed, Lies, Un-awareness, poor leadership, Lies, failed policies, failed economy etc... So, dont talk to me about being annoyed. You should be greatful that someone stepped in and is willing to "CHANGE". Get use to it!!!

Obama is surely for change. He is now the first President to ever not attend the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball, which honors those who have won the CMH (49 of 99 living recipients attended), since its inception by Eisenhower 56 years ago.

I'm not surprised.

And...so! What is your point? Why dont you educate yourself on how many total Inaugural Balls there were before singling out only one that he didnt attend. Obama isnt trying to walk in the foot steps of all the other who were president. This is a new man with new ideas and goals. Get use to that!

I dont think he made the "Masonic Inaugural Ball" but you dont hear anyone complaining about.

The ball we're speaking of is intended to honor war veterans and introduce the president to Medal of Honor recipients. Vice President Biden attended. Obama made time for the Youth Inaugural Ball, which included Kanye West.

Why honor American veterans when you can hang out with cultural "icons" like Kid Rock? He's so dreamy.

Who cares about the military. Obviously not him nor a large number of the Dem party. They are nothing but killers and rapists.

I guess with the Obama Administration we have to look forward to Lofty Promises, a Lack of details, spin , no detailed information.... or we have to look forward to a President who time and time again offends our intellect by calling us Religious Gun Toting Xenophobes and further offends our intellect by implying that if we are conservative, we should stop listening to Rush Limbaugh (I for one dont listen to that radio show) and we should fall in line with his plans for this country.

I am sorry, for the past 8 years I heard from Liberals, Democrats and people suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome that "Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism." But I guess now that the power has shifted, that paradigm is no longer true. I find it ironic that dissent and even down right mean opposition was allowed by the prior administration, but now we are seeing a glimpse from the other side that "to the Victor go the spoils." Basically, shut up you bitter bitter people, get over it, you lost, move on. I guess I am glad in 2000 GW Bush didnt have that mentality. He not only reached across the aisle to work with Democrats, but did so time and time again when his own Party chastised him for it.

My point is, we listened to you (guys) ***** about Bush for 8 years, get ready to listen to us (guys) ***** about Obama for the next 4 years.

Are you that ignorant that you don't understand what Jesda was driving at? Barry put more importance on a bunch of youth mingling with hollywood stars like Kayne West (who is that?) rather than attend an event with much greater meaning and depth (the military ball).

Maybe when you grow up and mature, you will realize the difference between pandering to the youth or respecting the military. I would say a Medal of Honor winner has sacrificed and devoted MUCH more than some youngster has ever in their life.

Not according to the youngster. They know everything, just ask a teenager.

That remains to be seen. The way the Congress and the President has been acting for the past few years 2006- present, spending money like drunken fools, and the prospect that it isnt going to get any better.. we will see.

[/quote]Howie, that is a pretty bold statement. But to be honest, with the Republicans acting no different than Democrats, I really couldn't care if they (Republicans) occupy another seat in Government. You can keep your "Change" I will take "Pence."

When it came time to select which balls to attend, he chose Kid Rock over decorated war veterans.

Unlike Bush, for all of his faults, left his 2003 Thanksgiving Dinner in Crawford TX and sneaked into Baghdad so that he could serve the Troops their dinner.

First truly bad move i have seen from BO so far, didnt take him long.

I brought this up in another post, hes going to have to get over the image that the media has created of him, and the public see him as and be his own man. He cant be this messiah that everyone has put him up to be. I understand his want to rally the youth, but the youth didnt need anything more. They/we got our man, most couldnt be happier. No kid would have been jaded enough that BO didnt show up to their party to stop supporting him. Just a really stupid decision.

Frankly, his decision offends me as im sure it does just about anyone in the military.

Well Howie, I guess it is a good thing that I haven't fallen for this trendy Celtic resurgence movement that we have experienced for the past 10 years. I think it is passe that people in this country run around beating their chest about how great it is to have Irish Ancestry and sing traditional Irish Drinking Songs like Whisky in the Jar. It wasn't that long ago in history when the Irish wondered why they were the considered the cursed people of the earth. But really, any group that beats their chest and claims authenticity to their Celtic roots because of their Red Hair and fails to understand who they got their Red Hair from (not to mention under what circumstances)... Holger Danske!... ranks pretty low in my book. They are so far removed from their heritage that it all becomes pretty ridiculous. Don’t think for one second that my in laws German exchange student looks at me (with her Portuguese eyes and Brazilian complexion) and even considers me anything more than just a typical American.
