It is The news mentions that his birth certificate was tested by multiple professionals & found to be a fake. Not to mention becoming a non-US citizen when he moved.WDRacing wrote: the "case" is weak
Me? I've stated repeatedly that I'm not supporting Obama in this election.wingFeather wrote:Right... because Obama can do no wrong. I seriously doubt you guys READ anything about Obama. Too busy attacking the other side.
There's a claim out there that this one won't hold true for Obama as the law listed is supposed to cover people after November 13, 1986 from what I understand.audtatious wrote:* Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
People state that the birth certificate should have other simple information like the hospital he was born at, birth weight, etc. which that Certificate of Live Birth does not have on it. The guy filing the suit wants Obama to produce a "vault copy" of his birth certificate that is certified by the Vital Statistics Bureau in Hawaii among many other things for proof of his citizenship. I think someone posted a link to the America's Right website above showing a list of what Berg wants.srellim234 wrote:What was the difference between the two certificates in Hawaii 45+ years ago? Did Hawaii issue a birth certificate that said "Birth Certificate" on it or were they all "Certificates of Live Birth"? If so, what is the criteria that Hawaii used to issue one or the other back in the early '60s? I find nothing on the Hawaii state website about it.
Correct, I agree. FWIW, I think this particular hoopla about Obama is just not worth arguing about. His mother was a natural US citizen, and he is a natural US citizen ... we, and everybody else, need to move on to the real issues in the campaigns.audtatious wrote:He being born outside the US doesn't mean he is not a citizen based on the above.
No. The US disallowed dual-citizenship for a long time - the act of applying for citizenship in another country meant that you had "renounced" the US one. However, this created problems who became citizens after a naturalization process - they did not actively seek the other country citizenship (they were already citizens of that other country). The specific law/guide was not clear on this issue.audtatious wrote:I thought there was a clause about dual-citizenship tho.
I would think not addressing it in this case would be worse...sensibleS13driver wrote:Addressing it gives it too much legitimacy and risks getting wider news coverage and spooking some swing voters, regardless of the final outcome.
This site seems to have some pretty good info and is keeping good track of what is going on: http://www.americasright.comAmericasRight.com wrote:According to Rule 36 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, a party upon whom requests for admissions have been served must respond, within 30 days, or else the matters in the requests will be automatically deemed conclusively admitted for purposes of the pending action.
Actually... I don't think this is a GOP deal. I'm quite positive Berg is probably on the Clinton's side, being a democrat. Of course, it definitely would not benefit the GOP if the accusations did turn out to be false and that he is truly eligible.AZhitman wrote:All partisanship aside, I agree - Why WOULDN'T you wrap this up, slam-dunk it in the face of the GOP and say, "Thanks for playing, chumps."

Yes, both parties are very savvy in shutting down, people, accusations and lawsuits that hurt their candidate. It seems weird that the DNC haven't sent out the dogs to handle this.budaudtatious wrote:The delay tactics by the DNC/Obama are strange.
That is the same thing investigators said when Obama presented his "birth certificate"ishkabibble wrote:Made that yourself, did you?
