They both had some good jokes. It is nice to see them take good-natured jabs at each other, and themselves. "where are my greek columns"?

Good stuff.

Too bad things can't be that way throughout the campaign.

You know, you guys may be on to something here. Rather than 6 months of negative campaign ads, why can't they have a 3-hour "roast" for each candidate, Friar's Club style. Then maybe they could get down to discussion of the issues and not foster partisan animosity for whoever ends up winning.

But I suppose a little sanity would be bad for ratings...

We were talking about this idea at work. Why not throw out the Electoral College system in this country and go to an American Idol Competition? Because let's face it, it already is a popularity contest.

So you get Ryan Seacrest to host the show and you get 24 of the top Republican, Libertarian, Green and Democratic candidates up there and you whittle them down to the top two. The candidate that receives the most amount of votes gets to be President, the 2nd runner up is the VP.

The Judges? Well you have Chris Matthews to be Simon, Joe Scarborough as Randy and Ann Coulter as Paula.
