It was nice seeing Obama getting praise and love after he received neither from the Marines during his last speech.....I do find the following interesting:

"We were pre-screened, asked by officials “Who voted for Obama?”, and then those who raised their hands were shuffled to the front of the receiving line. They even handed out digital cameras and asked them to hold them up."

Hmmmm..

Happens with every President Matt. I saw Bush in Korea, we were all screened.

Not so, this was in 98 or 99...we didn't hate him yet.

When Carter was Prez? Why were you screened to see Bush when he was just a dumb Gov?

Maybe it was when he was running...must have been 99. Regardless, it's SOP to screen people in the Military before everything. We can't even talk to a reporter without being told what to say. Step out of bounds and your life sucks for a long time.

I fully understand that. But there is a difference between interviewing and some weeding vs the two times Obama has been talking to/in front of "the troops". In one, you could hear a pin drop with very little applause or excitement from a very good sized audience. The second, where they were pre-screened, it was total massianation and there seemed to be far less personnel there.

There was one big press run against Bush and it was when military personnel who were wanting to as questions were talked to prior the event. BUT, they were never told what to say in the least. In the medium and bigger events, the huge majority was clapping and screaming. Seems to be a drastic difference.

Of course, you are closer to the military than I to get a true sense of what is really going on.

His point was that the Media tore Bush a new one for it, and they let it slide with Obama. The political double standard at it's finest.
