"If there's one thing that I regret this year is that we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values," Says Obama.

Really? How many golf games were played in your first 12 months? When the country was in a recession, how many times did you play golf? What about vacations, or campaigning for other Democrats or any number of things that were done instead of listening to what the public ACTUALLY wanted.

"Here's my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office," the president said. "People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."

Uh Oh...I look like an idiot for not following through with a single campaign promise. Especially where bi-partisan debate is concerned, I better deflect this whole thing onto someone else...hmm, lets see. Oh yeah, it's Bushes fault still. Standard political deflection tactics at work here. When someone has to back track or place blame somewhere else, they're are screwing up, period. Nice integrity dirt bag, way to own up.

"There's going to be a longer-term agenda, which is how do you reconstruct a nation that was already incredibly impoverished, that's now been flattened, and a government that, you know, basic records have been destroyed," the president said. "The basic instruments of government in that country are gone. We've got to help Haiti stand back up."

Asked by Stephanopoulos if the United States can afford to do that, Obama said,

"We can't afford not to do it because Haiti is our neighbor."

Really? We can't afford not to? When is Haiti ever going to be a positive influence in America's future? How's never sound? When you spend spend spend and the coffers are empty, it makes it difficult to "help" anyone. I'm sure glad we can't afford "not to". Whatever that means...

Who's rebuilding OUR Nation?

How about less focus on "the world view" and more focus on American citizens. After all, it's our country and our taxes that are being pissed into the wind.

I saw the some of this last night and was blown away by how many questions were deflected or turned towards the previous administration's failures. When he was asked about the health care talks and the lack of 8x campaign promised transparency he didn't answer the question at all. He started stuttering as he always does when something isn't scripted. Obama's defense when asked a "hard" question is deflect deflect deflect. Most people would suggest therapy to someone like that, we made him our leader.

Wasn't this the first interview in which he actually took questions since July?

Are you saying that him appearing on Oprah (which we paid for) isn't considered an interview?

What if Obama's people wanted this detroit b0mber episode to draw the wrath of the right away from health coverage for a minute.Or is that to deep in the conspiracy realm for most because afterall, obama is part of the false left/right paradigm and would never allow such a thing to happen.

And acts of terrorism are now "man-caused disasters" perpetrated by "enemy combatants" instead of terrorists. Don't forget that we are involved in "Overseas Contingency Operations" instead of a "war on terror"

Guess as long as those who blow themselves up or kill troops and innocents should not be offended by being called a terrorlst.

I'll never put anything past politicians, especially when they're between a rock and a hard space. We have to remember, they live day in and day out telling us blatant lies and half truths. Not just the current admin either, that goes for every single politician holding a seat in office right now. The Republicans are certainly no better...Bush and his admin F'd us over good...for 8 years.

My problem with these antics is a simple one. Here is exactly what I would say to Obama.

"Sir, I understand the Bush admin royally screwed the pooch for 8 years. I understand how bad the economy was when you took office. I also understand that YOU knew how bad things were when you took office. Yet you promised all sorts of things knowing these aforementioned facts.

Why does our POTUS continue to make excuses? All good leaders assume full responsibility for everything that happens on their watch. They don't deflect from the issues at hand, they attack them. So tell me, why do you keep blaming everyone else, be it Bush for leaving you with a mess to clean up or the position itself for making you "to busy"?. Correct me if I'm wrong, but your position is on a volunteer basis is it not?"

Obama's answer, "Well Brian...it's just not as clear as all that, I"

I interrupt, "STFU and answer the f***ing questions poopyhead!!!!!"

Congress did far worse than Bush did. They agreed with him on the war (initially) and pushed forth their own agenda. Bush was def not fiscally conservative but he's nothing compared to the crew that is in charge today. Funny how the majority of his policies that the Dems cried as "foul" are being pressed forth today and grown.

Don't forget Bush didn't cause the housing crisis. You can show the cause of that being CRA with Clinton and Carter before him.

At this point IDGAF who or whats to blame. I'm so sick of finger pointing...I wonder if they realize how pathetic they sound when they deflect and lay blame on others. It makes me wanna smack the s*** out of them.

Just fix the F'N problems and press on. We all know things are royally F'D right now, we're all ready to move past it. Am I the only one that doesn't care who caused what? Just stop spending money we don't have, rally some actual bipartisan talks and get something done. I mean FFS, all we do is spend money to achieve nothing.

CRA was just stupid. Clinton's Admin pressing it forth is what really caused all the housing crap. GOP should have done something about it during the first 6 Bush years.
