O2 sensors

my o2 sensors are up on my manifolds, those are the only ones i have. How in the heck do you get those things off? Me and my friend both pryed on those things from the top and bottom with sockets and wrenches and even with the socket heads that are made to change them and they wouldn't budge an inch. I think im going to take it to my mechanic today but i was just curious.
