Hey,
I have a recently rebuilt sr that runs quite rich, it backfires alot and that's even with a cat (though its probably toast by now). I used the consult cable and some conzult software to monitor things, and everything looks alright except for o2 sensor voltage, which reads 0 volts.
So, thinking my o2 sensor was pooched, I tried another. Still 0 volts, and the car still idled badly and bogged alot. Now what I'm thinking is either the wiring is messed up, or the ecu won't go into closed loop mode for some reason.
I wired it like this (skinny sensor):
sensor - harness------------------------------red - brownblack - whitewhite - black
I know it seems like the white/black should be switched, but the plugs were arranged like this from the factory, and it seems to be about 50/50 consensus to do it this way online. The alternative is to switch the wires, but it doesn't make sense, since the factory harness was setup like this.
Should I switch the wires? I did it on my old o2 sensor and I still got 0 volts. Maybe the harness got messed up during the rebuild or something...
I'm open to any ideas; I'm really tired of getting 14mpg.
Thanks guys
