The fatter part of the wire is what was affected. no metal is exposed.

I took car to canadian tire today. They said they couldn't fix it and i should go to dealer. They said computer was not monitoring O2 levels. I told them that the wire that goes from sensor to computer had been melted to exhaust manifold but they didn't seem to understand what I was saying. My ECU is not throwing any codes. It did throw a code when I disconnected the o2 sensor. I ran a ecu self-diagnosis of fuel mixture and i got a blinking light at rpms over 1000 which indicates optimal mix. I cut the melted wire out and it had almost zero resistance.

Wondering if taking out the air injection assembly might have caused weird numbers.
