So, if my O2 sensor reads 0.1 volts at the signal wire right after starting, goes to 0 and stays at 0, then sputters and dies...then does the same thing over and over again...what might that mean? Narrowband O2 sensor btw...

it means upgrade to wideband... when you say sputters and dies im guessing you mean your engine..are you running rich at all? as far as the voltage goes it definately sounds like a bad o2 sensor

Wideband is already en route lol.

Yea, I meant my engine sputters and dies. And the engine is running lean. Weird. I'm gonna go buy another O2 sensor today and check it out.

hmmm very wierd, bad o2 sensor = rich conditions not lean...when you get 0v is your engine warm or cold? the o2 sensor doesnt start reading until the engine is warm so maybe thats why you are getting 0v (if engine is cold)...if its cold check voltage when engine is warm......i dont think it is your o2 sensor..start checking around for other things..vacuum leaks, clean your iacv check your timing and check your ecu

Ok, dumb question...how do I check the ecu? lol. I don't know anyone around here with one that works, I'm in Kansas lol, not the East or West coast.

well there are two things you can do when checking your ecu for codes...1# is checking to see if the actual computer itself is bad and #2 is checking for other codes on the computer.......turn the key on..you will see a l.e.d. on the back of the ecu come on...now start the engine..if it stays on you have a bad ecu..if it goes off then your ecu is ok...

...to check for codes turn your key on..turn the little screw which is next to the l.e.d. fully clockwise and let it sit for atleast 2seconds and turn it back fully counter clockwise...you will get a series of flashes in two different sets...the first set has a longer pause in between each flash..the second set has very fast pauses in between each flash......if you get one flash followed by a long pause of about .5 to .75 seconds and then another flash followed by the same pause and then another flash followed by a very fast pause with maybe a .25 second pause and then another flash with a fast pause of like i said about .25 you have a code 32......once you do the procedure you will see what i mean as far as the sets and their pauses...but what im trying to say is the first set (longer pauses)represents the first # in the code...and the second set (shorter pauses) represent the second # in the code
