so i have this 7/8ths o2 sensor socket, and i attempted to replace the o2 sensor, but as i tried to unscrew it from the headers, the hex-pattern got stripped.

i didnt think that was supposed to happen with a socket made specifically for the o2 sensor, but it did. and im pissed.

anyone have any ideas? please?

heat the o2 with a torch till it gets really hot and the tap it fairly hard a few times with a hammer and use some big vice grips if you can get them on it to get it out. This has worked for me before, hope it works for you

thanks, im gonna try that asap, since im fairly positive that the o2 sensor has never been changed.

if that doesnt work, im just gonna try to get these pacesetter headers i found for the sohc ka. then i wont even have to worry about it, right?

yeah if you get new headers there is no need to worry about it but try that first and see if it works

pb blaster the side and tap around it with a hammer to see if you can knock around some of the pb blaster into the threads. if you pull the downpipe/manifold you should have clear access to it. In which case, hose it down with the pb blaster, and go at it with a pipe wrench.
