O2 sensor solution?(it isnt wideband)

im looking for a cheap solution for my s13. i bought a crappy a/f ratio gauge (it isnt wideband) and i heard i cant tap it into my o2 sensor's sire now b/c it will throw off the ohms giving it false readings. any ideas??

***edit*** i didnt mean the (it isnt wideband) part in the thread name itself, my mouse f-ed up when i was typing and i somehow ended up typing it there too :s

I have not heard of the voltmeter type A/F gages messing with the sensor operation.

What do you expect this gage to tell you? It certainly isn't going to be accurate enough to tune with. All it will tell you is if you are a little bit leaner or richer than stoich.

I expect it to give me a general idea. If i wanted more, i wouldnt have bought a crappy one.

I just have a feeling im burning a bit rich at times and want to be able to get some proof, and find ways to solve my problem.

well i did, in fact, successfully hook it up yesterday. it works great, and is giving me insight to pursue other issues.
