I have a 95 J30 and I am replacing both oxygen sensors. I picked up some universal NGK sensors and after checking a wiring diagram I am not sure which wires go where. I assume one white on the new goes to 12v, the other to ground and it does not matter black connect to the white (ECU 55 drivers side) and the white (ECU 29 on the passengers side) on the harness. if it does not matter great, if not, which to which and how would I know? Ohms between the white and white on the new sensor is low, infinite between the the black and either whites. Thanks, Rick

The answer quickly because obvious when I did the job. Even though the harness is wired with the colors listed above, the O2 sensor just has two white and one black wires, just like the universal replacement. The black wire goes to the ECU and the white are for ground and 12v... doesn't matter which.

From the book of "don't follow my example"... after cleaning all the contacts with CRC electronic cleaner, I put dielectric grease in the female side of each connector. This caused intermitant contact and the check engine light to come on the the code told me the O2 sensors I just installed where bad. Cleaned the connectors again and the problem went away.
