This car has pulled codes for the longest time, check engine light of and on almost since we bought it new. Then it just stayed on so we learned to ignore it. Always ran great. Fast, smooth, never a stumble, good gas mileage 23 around town.

Just recently we could not get it instected in NC. Crown Nissan estimated $600 for code P139.

I looked up service bulliten, that recommended replacing two of the 4 O2 sensors not just the one causing the code. Autozone took two days to deliver OEM replacements.

My son and I installed, cleared the code. Started the mutha up and surprise! (to me), it ran like a top - way more torque and power off the line. I guess we forgot how good it ran a long time ago. Wheel spinning launches if not carefull with right foot. VERY noticable difference.

We drove it about 50 miles, passed inspection.

Life is good.... so, we fixed the O2 sensors, had Precision Tune flush/rep-lace AT and coolant, I put in a fresh intake and in-cabin filter, we had just changed the engine oil & filter, rotated tires, all belts looked good.

Cost of all that, including a complete interior and exterior detail with wax & buffing: less than half the 60,000 mile + 02 sensor repair Crown Nissan dealer estimate. And I have the satisfaction it was done right. I paid half what the stealership wanted for the O2 sensors at autozone. Their price for the AT & collant flush was absurd too.

Welcome to NICO!

Also, congrats on the defeat against the stealership. Most just go to the dealer out of habit (or stubbornness). Sounds like you made out alright. Lets see some pics of that machine!

Thanks for the welcome!

I have lurked here a few times getting help on my wifes car: the Maxima - which for the most part has been a touble free car. Right side front wheel bearing went a few months ago (did that too, I should say my son did I just had back surgery), the two O2 sensors, HVAC fan motor, rest just fluids and tires & filters.

Not sure which machine you wanted a pic of... the one I work on that has been a great ongoing project is my STi.. 491st one in the USA back in mid 2003. I also had a really nice 280Z so props to everyone here!

Let's see if I can link up to my hosting site for a few STi pics for you. Hope this works: [IMG][/IMG]

Here are some of my mods:'04 STi JBP Cobb Stage II Protuned by Hill at Agile 340WTQ, 329WHP, RPS clutch, Cobb sf intake w/SPT ducted sheild, Prodrive EBS, colder plugs, STi short shifter kit with Cobb SS lever, KB bushings, Hotchkis sways, KB links, Whiteline steering bushings & ALK, group N's, Konis, RCE V2 ylw springs, fender braces, Tein FSB, RT 615's/Alt Rush, ATE Superblue, Autometer pod, Defi boost gauge, boost activated intercooler spray mod, relocated spray button to console by shifter, wingless VIS CF trunk... and more I forget!

It's a great handling torquey AWD beast> It really handles well, I did a lot to the suspension originally to autocross, but now mostly my DD... but we travel in the Maxima! A lot more comfy... I really like the Maxima, alas it's stock, only one modded car allowed in the family, per what she said!
