what's up people, I got an o2 sensor and knock sensor code for my 95 se, and I was wondering which o2 sensor it's for? the foward one going into the exhaust manifold, or the rear one? the faq doesn't specify either. anyone know?

Btw, mechanics are bull****, they said it was a hard code that they could clear and it wouldn't come back. I asked what was different about doing it that way and me going directly to the ecu and clearing it, and they said some bs about the hard codes being able to be cleared by computer. (?) I won't fall for that one again, and will have fun listening to them stutter after I grill their ***.

how do you get that bastard out of the exhaust manifold? I've been trying with a crescent wrench, but I think I started to flatten a corner, so I'll wait until I get a closed end wrench. but it's still a little hard to get room. any ideas?

Universal O2 sensor wrench.

The shorter one usually fits better.

I'm a mechanic, and I know that the 02 Sensor and Knock Sensor codes don't go away. You can clear them and as soon as the ECU gets the incorrect signal they come right back up.

The Knock Sensor code will not illuminate the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light), however the 02 Sensor code will.

The 02 Sensor will have thread lock on it and as a result won't be fun to remove.

exactly that... thread lock

It's a compound that bonds the sensor's threads to the bung so it can't back out with the manifold pressure.

Also, thread lock will keep it from shaking loose from vibration.
