Ok, so I have horrible cold start issues. Now, I am having problems with surging idle and bogging/backfiring on WOT even after the engine is warmed up. So reading through the FSM has led me to beleive that I have a problem with my O2 sensor. So following the FSMs directions (EF&EC 52) I unplugged the sensor, let her warm up, and went for a spin. It still bogs a bit, but no more backfire. It pulls more freely, but not perfect. So I am assuming that my O2 sensor is FUBAR. Any comments?

Oh, and another thing: in Mode I, car on, the green light only comes on every 10 seconds or so. The FSM says to check the O2 sensor if this happens.

Take a voltmeter, and hook the red lead to o2 output and the other to ground and let her idle, then rev it up and watch the voltage rise. It should go from ~.2-.9 volts. .2 at idle and .9 would be WOT, it should also vary smoothly between there as you rev it up.

Do I unhook the sensor? Like I put the positive lead on the unhooked O2 sensor wire at the plug and revv it?

Leave it all hooked up. Just either pierce the wire with the lead or wedge it into the harness somehow. Just make sure that you cover the wire back up wherever you pierced it at.
