Post

Good Day,

I already posted this on the Online Nissan Tech section, is that where this type of question is supposed to go?..sorry of my ignorance!

I have this code coming up on my 95' Maxima with 150K miles on the clock.

I read the code using my Auto Enginuity code reader. I believe this is the pre cat O2 sensor on the passenger side.

I am I correct about which senor it is and would it be safe to say that this O2 sensor is defective?

Do I need to buy an OEM sensor or can I get an aftermarket O2 sensor, if an aftermarket one is OK what would the PN be.

Thanks in advance

Ben

Your first stop should be the Info/How-to thread at the top of the forum.zerothread?id=56283

See this thread for diagnosing codes.zerothread?id=126542

See this thread for O2 locations, link to directions, and where to buy.zerothread?id=126438

You can also use the search button at the top right corner of this and every page.

Thank you maxhopper97. I already looked at the "how to" section but was unsure that B1 and B2 were referring to Bank 1 and Bank 2. I just did not want to make that assumption even those it was pretty obvious...DOH!

It's interesting because the previous owner of this 95' Max had provided me with all the service records and it appears these O2 sensors are not that durable as she has had the dealer change all the sensors numerous times, admittedly the car does have over 150K miles on the clock, it just surprises me that's all.

Any comments?

Thanks again,

Ben

It does seem odd that they would need to be replaced frequently. You might check the invoices to see if one of the replacements was due to a TSB.

It was a bad Bank 2 O2 Sensor, Replaced with an NTK 24018..all is good.

Glad you have it solved. O2 sensors can be a pain...
