I have an 1990 D21 (KA24E) and managed to pretty much mangle the seized O2 sensor trying to get it out. I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow, and they're going to try to get it out for me.

Here's my question: it was a serious pain getting the heat shield off the manifold to get a clear view of and access to the sensor. Is there harm in driving the 2 miles to the shop without the heat shield on? Otherwise, I'm going to have to put it back in tonight and have him pull it out again tomorrow morning for what I"m hoping will be a quick job (getting the sensor out).

Thanks.
