o2 problems??

ive been trying to track down my richness problem for quite a while now and i think found it i have a aftermarket elbow on my redtop so i had to use the fat o2 sensor i bought it brand new a few months ago and i just checked the o2 it was just 12v going in and nothing coming out on the other 2 wires ive read that u can use the blacktop o2s no problem do i have to get a adapter and go skinny type or do i have to rewire the plug on the fat o2?
