O-rings going out what to do

my O rings are out and my car will burn oil when i get up in hte high rpms if the engine is not hot but still will when it is hot but not as much i put about a quart in a week if i am racen the car hard. How long can you drive with bad o rings does it hurt the car at all? how muchto get it fixed? thanks again for the help guys

Are you referring to your piston rings? What did you do to verify that is where the problem is?

If that is the problem, or at least, your rings are not sealing very well, then you lose compression in that cylinder and you may burn oil. Generally, it won't kill the motor to drive like that, but you will waste gas and may not pass any smog tests if you have them in your state. In order to replace the piston rings, you have to remove the oil pan and the heads to gain access. It's quite labor intensive. it's pretty much an engine rebuild. The easier way might be to buy a used motor and drop it in.
