k so last friday night i got my A/C back whole windshield shattered.. it was my buddy who did it by accident and hes paying for it...thats not the problem

for one, i have lil glasses all over in the car now.and i bought the windshield from the dealer and today i was going to put it on...then i get a call later and they were telling me that they cant put it on because they dont have the rubber weather strip to seal the window. apparently its in backorder which coming from Japan who knows how long it will take to ship it here..apparently theres other A/C owner whos been waiting since Dec. 19 i was talking to local auto glass company and he was saying that if i want, he can just put the glass w/o the strip till the part come in then take the glass off again and put it back on w/ the strip...that will cost me $145 X 2 + cost of the strip...and i already paid for the windshield which was 335

AHHH im going nuts cuz i need the car...this is retarded and i want to kill my friend (not literally) please any suggestions? i am tripping balls right now

easy solution.......tell him your situation and make him pay for everything.

perhaps you can call another dealer in the area to see if they might have any?

stealership called around and there is nothing in CAN/US thats why this other guy have been waiting since Dec 19. because our car is so new and there is no aftermarket strip part and there isnt even a part number for it :S

Yeah man, i dont know if you know what happend to me but.. My driver side leather seat is tearing (Because of a defect that happend a while ago) They ordered me a new seat back in november or october and told me it would be 6 to 8 months.. from japan.

At least your getting some JDM parts for free? lol...Common, new JDM windshield rubber things, thats gotta be 20 HP right there.

holy...thanks for the site!yup thats what im looking for but i called them and they dont ship anything outside U.S :Sand for some reason they dont have that on their system either...he told me hes going to give me a call tomorrow...ahh i dun even know anymore..

anyhow anyone know if coupe uses same rubber molding as the sedan?? i know only thing we share is the hood but maybe we uses same small parts like that?? hopefully?? lol

Im afraid not... the foreign manufacturers (like honda and toyota, no doubt nissan among them) use a lean production process that incorporates Just In Time production. This basically means that part suppliers deliver parts mere days or hours before their installation. This cuts down on storage costs tremendously. Now if Nissan utilizes this process for their US production, which no doubt they do, then they only have enough of these parts for the cars currently on the production line. These parts may just be produced in enough quantity to support their initial production push of these cars, while the part wherehouses (who the dealerships get their parts from) are awaiting delivery once initial production numbers drop a bit. Who knows really...

so i still havent got my car fixed...stealership told me that estimated time arrival of weather strip is TODAY..so i called the stealership and now he's telling me ETA now is Feb 18TH WTFFFFFFFFFFF ive already waited 2-3weeks and now i have to wait another 2 weeks?? this is such a non sense...i called consumer affair and seems like no helpanyone PLEASEEE gimme some advise what i should do pleaseeeei need to get my car back on the road like nowww

Wtf, its been 4 months now and i still havent gotten my seat.

And yeah, the A/C is built in the US but the parts and plan for it came from Nissan in Japan. So the parts are coming from Japan.

why did u pay for the glass damage yourself? should have just claimed in on your insurance under Comprehensive. hopefully your comp deductible is low and you pay little or nothing out of pocket to get it fixed

comprehensive claims dont cause your insurance to go up (meaning no insurance points)

also... if u did file it under your insurance the cost of the windshield, the strip (parts) and labor would have been covered.

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong but isn't The windshield is held in by the mastic, this is just trim.So i think you can put it in and run the car with no problem.Then the trim can be put on later. I seem to remember this happened to me with my new Legacy in 1990, no trim for a while after a wait for a made in Japan windshield !!!

yea it sucked alot but idk you just need one part i keeded alot of parts and clips. but the guy at the body shop was cool he took parts off another coupe and said when they come the will replace that on that car. and because i did not get a rental car my insurance gave me $10 per day so i have like $700 and i don't know if i should w8 for nismo parts or get in on the group buys. but after not driving it for so long, it now feels like i got a bran new car!! i am so happy now. (now i just need to get rid of this snow on the streets. hmmmm maby we can ship it to the north pole and stop global warming!).

k thi thread is about me b!tching but please understand......so 2nd ETA was yesterday for my part but dealership wasnt open due to holiday..so i called this morning and told me that part still hasnt come yet...WTF1st ETA was like 2 weeks ago and now they dont even know when it will arrive...and oh btw i didnt put the glass back on w/o the molding so i havent able to drive my car for now more than a month... this is getting so f*ing rediculous and i am pretty much beyond p!ssed!!any suggestion b4 i go to dealership and kill everyone?? so nissan just called...and said that they f*cked up and now ETA is March 14th WTFFFFFFF

BUT they r giving me a rental till then

these guys screwed up big time...i just dont get why it takes 2-3 months to get the molding...and im not even talking about the windshield (which i got the windshield w/in 3 days...)

i dunno what car they r renting to me but hopefully something nice so i can rip the hell out of it
