the original OEM filter {15208-60u00} was discontinued a few years ago and replaced by the generic nissan filter currently offered- I think the Mobil 1 or the Pure-One both are excellent alternatives to the current nissan offering.

And Joe has a killer price on the M1.

The new generic thimble filter is intended for VQ engines. Should be avoided.

The Mobil One filter is made by Champion Labs - The same folks who make "STP", "SuperTech" and "Champ" filters (among others). On the M1, they use a better filter media than on their other products. All of their filters are pretty good (especially when you consider the price!), but their M1 is top-notch.

I really like the purolator pure 1. Ive been using them the last 2 times on my Q and is a great alternative to the 60U00 filters... I still have a decent stash of the OEM ones.

Lots of threads on this subject around here and after reading all them I use the Mobile One from Joe on my Q. I cheap out and use a Purolator on my QX4.

I'm a fan of Supertech. Cheapest filter you can possibly buy, and very well built with excellent flow. Purolator oil filters are good too, but their air filters are junk.

i used the motorcraft fl400s filter on my q, it's supposed to be a good filter, it's cheap and it's bigger than the stock filter.
