O-Drive stays on and car will not shift to 4th

shifts to all other gears fine,,,,,over drive button doesnt nothing even after warm up......engine sounds spectacular after a complete head job and new hoses....55mph at 3400rpms

of course something has to go wrong, please if u can help lemme know

i hear it maybe a trans fluid sensor,,,,,not kicking the transmission into 4th....or gear oil maybe needed.....

see if you can get the od switch off. i dont remember how they come off but you want to get to the harness. if you can jump the connector it may switch the od on/off.

i took the switch out of the shifter and tested the continuity......all good there.....i guess i would need some type of wiring showing if something might be shorted........Does this seem electrical to you? Please let me know some ideas that u might have heard of PLEASE

no fu...ing way, i was headed there friday to put in a order for a fluid temp sensor for my 240sx....

Hey do the O2 sensor or fluid temp sensor have anything to do with the light staying on..?

try the self diag testturn ign offpush shift lock releasemove selector to dset od to offturn ign onwait 2 secsmove selector to 2set od to onmove selector to 1set od to offmash the gas and releaseset od to oncheck od indicator lamp for codes

hey tried the self diag.......nothing happen....tried over and over.....over drive light just stays on........

i tried before to manually bypass switch but nada

i guess it might be shorted somewhere.........do u know where to search first?

i would test to see what you have at pin 19 of the tcm. you want to backprobe the connector to find out if it has power or ground there. if you cant get into self diag mode then something electrical is messed up.

Hey chris does it list which pin is 19 in the fsm? and where is the tcm on a 91 nissan, ,,,,,im still new to this ride and getting familiar with it.

there you go. tcm is on the pass right foot kick panel. behind it rather.

My OD light stays on and im checking for voltage to the od switch and NOTHING........whatcha think?

Also...Do u know what i could do to bypass or jump like u said earlier to get battery voltage to see if it might jump the gear to switch to 4th....\

Im still trying.......NEVER giving up.....lol...atleast not yet
