Hi Pwnin,

I need a little help on how to remove the shift selector on a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. I read your post which was great. I removed it no problem; however, I'm stuck on reconnecting the two over drive wires. I tried to remove the od connector with a small screw driver and two of the corners that hold the connector on the bottom of the shift selector (s/s) broke off : ( Once I had the od connector seperated I slide it down the shaft that the s/s slides down on and slid the two od wires thru the holes pushing the wire up until the connectors on the end of the wire cleared the od connector. I then slid the s/s down the shaft and used a screw driver to push the od connector in the the s/s. Since the s/s bottom corners were broken it wouldn't hold it in place. So I think I have to purchase a new s/s. Also, does it matter which od wire is on the left and which one is on the right?

I just want to make sure I have the process right before I order a new s/s.

Your help is very appreciated.

I split this post from the How-To topic.

Your description is a little difficult to follow. You're saying that you broke the tab that secures the O/D off wiring harness, so you pulled out the wires from the connector instead? Can you post some pictures?
