Huh? How do you have an O/D OFF bulb if you have a manual transmission? You should not have this bulb, as manual transmissions don't have overdrive, obviously.

Maybe he meant stick as opposed to manual, since Chuck didn't give him much of a choice.

True, I noticed that, too, heh.

Anyway, OP has O/D toggle switch. I assume he has an automatic.

What's the condition and level of the transmission fluid?

1. Drive around for 10 minutes in the city after the transmission is at operating temperature.
2. Park on level surface and apply parking brake.
3. With P selected, shift through every gear and return to P.
4. Pull transmission dipstick with engine idling, wipe clean, reinsert completely, and read level. It must be within the notched areas labeled "HOT". Check for fluid contamination after wiping on a paper towel.

The fluid should be red, and not smell burnt. If it is brown/black, smells burnt, or metal flakes are visible, do several drain & fills, each within a few days of each other (or do a pan drop).

Also, the O/D OFF indicator blinking indicates that there is a stored transmission code. Get the engine codes pulled somewhere and tell us the code (i.e. P0701).

DUH. I meant manual vs. automatic. I've got an '01 with a manual, so I'll butt out now.

Except: NISSAN: BRING BACK THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION PATHFINDER. I HAVEN'T BOUGHT A
NEW ONE BECAUSE I HATE AUTOMATICS. You have a great six-speed, put it in the Pathfinder.
