Who would want to buy a car that used to be a nyc taxi? Better yet, why would anyone want to do that?

Altimas are one of several cars used for NYC taxis, its been that way for almost 5 years dude, GET WITH THE TIMES!

I also know a GREAT DEAL about NYC Taxis, and I wouldnt sugguest anyone buying them after they are taken off the street (they are forced off the street after around 2 yrs).

They typically get driven btwn 20-25 hours a day for 2 years straight on some of the toughest terrain in the country.

lol ya i heard taxi regulations are way more tough on the east coast. here they just go to the government auctions and buy former cop cars (Ford Crown Victorias) with over 100,000 miles lol so you definitely dont want a used taxi here because chances are it was a used cop car before a taxi and will have like 250,000 miles on it lol

it's only city taxi's that have harsh regulation, you can imagine why. i'm sure LA has a lot more regulations on their taxi services compared to the towns around it. but yeah, i've been in the altima taxi before, nothing special. just some better gas mileage for them. my friend is a livery driver but he has a black towncar, a little more money. my dad used to do it too. he owned like 3 radios and rented em out. the radio for a towncar is the equivelent to a gold medallion on a taxi. crazy money in that. 3 radios was about a $650k investment. and this is back in the mid to late 80's. i can tell you a lot about that kind of livery service, but yellow taxi's i dunno much about, just the basics.
