This is a car I never see on this forum. In fact, its not even mentioned in the name. But I just saw one for sale reight near my house, and the guys moving says name a price and work for there.

Only stopped for 1 minute, but any opinions on the car (NX2000 in general). I will probably go back to look specificaly more at the car.

Plus....how many alarm bells does this set off: The car has a gash in the driver fender...and it looks like a replaced gas cap. Let me repeat, the metal is entirely broken for a length of the car. Paint didnt jump out as a repaint though, and it didnt look like a huge dent. But im wary....the idea of buying a frame damaged car scares me.

Take a look at the frame, run the VIN. His old gas cap may have become leaky, which is not uncommon for old cars.

As far as NX2k's go in general, I've always wanted to drive one myself. They seem like a great answer to an old Civic hatch, like an SE-R with a hatch. Some people really like them, others grumble a little bit, just like any car. I want to say Nismo_Freak (mod here on NICO) had/has one.

I have one as well and will be putting a JDM SR20DE in next week. The cars are very fun to drive. Same chasis as the B13 sentra, except a hatch. Also comes with the bigger brakes that the SE-R's fans usually upgrade to. Once again, run a carfax on the vin#. If the price is right and the car is in good running condition, you almost can't pass up the deal. I bought my NX for $400 and will have a nice, fast little egg here shortly. With no more than $1100 in the vehicle.

Alright Ill head back there sometime soon. The guy who owns it works a this mechanic shop off the side of the road....thats where I spotted it. I want an NX because the SE-R has always appealed to me I just cant find one, it goes for a little less, in general is lighter (better performance), has the brakes, etc.

Let you know how it goes.

Then I got to convince my parents to let me buy it.

Sounds good man, good luck.

Picked it up for $400? Wow. I may have to put that in my list of contenders for my future true-project car...

Hello,I just bought a 1992 NX2000 this past weekend. I want to switch the stock airbox to a K&N style. What parts will I need for the job? Thanks for any input you can give me.

K&N drop-in filter or K&N cone?

For the drop in, just open it up (a few screws), pull out the old filter, and put in the new one.

For a cone setup you'll still just need a screwdriver and maybe a ratchet. Pull off the intake piping from the opening point all the way to the airbox, take off the airbox, and attach the cone filter to the MAF. Put the intake temp sensor somewhere near the filter so that its reading is accurate and you're all set.

If you buy a full replacement intake system it will come with instructions.

Do not do just the cone filter setup unless it comes with a proper velocity stack like the JWT Pop Charger does. The NX2000 MAF sensor is very sensitive to turbulence and the MAF readings will be all over the board if you use a cheap MAF adapter.

My suggestion is to buy a used Place Racing or AEM Cold Air Intake. They are not much more expensive than the Pop Charger and give you more horsepower.

There is a Sentra & NX Coupe Factory Service Manual. You have to get the one for your year since the wiring differs. I've only seen it in hardcopy form.
