nx2000 manual rack and pinion play!?!?!?

i have a 1993 nx2000 with a manual rack and pinion. But the steering has some play in it and was wondering what would cause this? i dont like to mess with suspension/steering but i have replaced the outer tie rod ends and it helped alittle but still has play. any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Are you talking in the steering wheel or in the front tires when the fronts off the ground?

No it's more like when I'm driving down the road the steering its as if I can turn left turn right and its hesitant.

Hmm any way you can get the front up and have a friend shake the wheel back and forth while you watch the components?

Ive Already tried that I couldnt notice anything loose or wore out. i figured te knuckle to the rack and pinion is loose or something like that but i dont know anything of that stuff lol

It could be, I don't know if this is the "proper" way to check it, but try wedging a thick screwdriver or small pry bar in there and see if you can get any play in the knuckle.

didnt notice any play in the knuckle so im just going to try to get an alignment and see what happens lol probly wouldnt hurt to redo the front end anyways.....just dont want to. :/
