The title says the question, I don't have this socket in my stash of sockets and my local kragens doesn't have it either. Just wondering what size that socket is for the bolt that's holding the drum in place. It's the one just behind the cotter pin and the cap. I need to get that bugger off to finish the brake job on my sisters altima. It's a 95. Thanks in advance.

the drum comes off with out removing that nut. large ballpein hammer and a good aim smack that sucker right between the lug studs and it should pop right out.

but for the record I believe that nut is a 32 mm. could be a 30 dont take it off much...lol

whoa are you serious? I was checking out the fsm for her car and it shows a washer or something that looks like it's holding it in place. I was checking it out today when after I picked up the new shoes and went back there and was like wth? How come the drums aren't coming off? Popped off that cap and saw a cotter pin, pulled that, then saw the nut. Rotated around the nut and saw it roating around. Perhaps I will try that again and get the good ol' hammer to pop the drum off. lol

yea that nut is for the hub and bearing. they both stay on and you work around them to do the brakes. although if you look at the drums there are 2 holes inbetween the studs on either side. you can thread a bolt into those to pop the drum off. technically thats the way its suppose to be done but we dont live on the east coast now do we??..lol They come off pretty easy when you rap them with a hammer though.

ah ok I was wondering what those two holes were for. So smack the drum between the lugs eh? I'll be doing that tomorrow it looks like. Should I even bother taking the cotter pin and cap off then?

sweeet. Less work. lol! Oh I've been meaning to ask, when I turn the steering wheel as far as it'll go, and give it some gas, then it makes a "click-click-click-click" sound as long as the steering wheel is set to that position. Could it be the axle or something? It's coming from the passengers front side.

while moving? or just in nuetral? If moving yes it would be the cv joint is worn out. just replace that axel.
