Which track? Theres two, The 15 mile Nordeschlief and... the other one that F1 uses...

Anyway, I googled it and found nothing. If you're talking about the Nordeschlief, seeing as how the R34 GTR broke records with it's 7:50+ second time (Not sure exactly), a stock 240sx with a Ka24de would probably be high 8 minutes. Worse if it was still governed!

I have a hard time thinking Nissan would even bother to test it there... Of course, I could just run it in Turismo and let you know! lol!

Yeah I was talking about the one that all the car manufacturers test on. I looked too and failed to find anything. I'm surprised that I couldn't find anything for at least a stock s15...

Maybe they tested it at a Japanese circuit like Tsukuba or Suzuka? IDK...too lazy to check.

Word, but it's kinda scary that the NSX-R is right on its heels with <300 HP all motor.

Being a 240sx lover... I was really just being nice when I said high 8's... I know that ain't really gonna happen outside of a video game! lol

I don't even think they would have tested a 240sx on Tsukuba. A Silvia or 180sx, yes. A ka powered 240? Nah... It would probably run like... 1:15 or something...

*sigh*

When i was stationed in Germany i ran my stock 95 s14 on that ring. it cost 20 bucks per lap. i had a friend try to video tape it inside the car but i was throwing him everywhere so the vid is terriable, but i looked at the time it took me it was 10.27 slow as **** bone stock with a AEM intake. Now i have a 97 SR20DET, i wished i was back there to try it again, but all the german 240's are called 200sx there and have the SR20DET from the factory. not sure what they run there

10.27?! LOLZ!

Wait... that's my engine, too... *sigh*

When you compare that to the Nur spec R34's sub 8 minute time, the majesty of the Skyline become SOOO much more apparent...

I Know this is an old thread, but it's about the only thread on this I could find.
Sentra's time sounds about right. I fired up Gran Turismo 6. I used the 93 Silvia Q's to simulate my 96 S14 base model. The Q's has a NA SR20DE. I added the sports exhaust and the intake kit (which I have) and bumped the power limiter setting down to 152. Supposedly The KA makes around 156 stock. I set it it at 152 to simulate the 124,000 mi I have on my motor. I figured I have lost about 10% HP over the years and the upgrades probably only amount to 5-10HP at most. A KA makes more torque than an SR20, but a hair less peak HP. The power limiter caps the peak HP but not the torque, so cranking it down to 152, it should give a pretty good approximation of a fresh stock KA, or an older one with mild upgrades. I then added about 30kg towards the rear of the car to simulate half a tank of fuel and the spare/jack. I am assuming they account for a 180lb driver in their simulation physics.

For the run itself, I used the cockpit view (it's just a blacked out windshield shaped frame on this car since it's not a "premium" model). All assists were turned off. Transmission was set on manual. I used a Logitech Driving force GT on simulation setting with FF set at max. ABS was set at 0, since I have a base model (no ABS). I also limited shifts to 6500, since that is the KA redline.

The most difficult thing to simulate is the "fear factor". You tend not to have that sense of impending death when sitting in your living room without the violent g forces tossing your body about. I altered my driving style to be deliberately more cautious, as if I were driving in a real car and did not want to prang up my car and/or live out the remainder of my life in a nursing home with tubes stuck in every orifice. That said, I probably still pushed it harder than I would have in real life.

I turned in a time of 10:17. very close to Sentra's time. Sentra said he was stationed in Germany, so I am assuming Sentra is in the military and not a professional racing driver. A professional would likely be capable of 10 to 15 sec faster.

Based on this very non-scientific experiment, I would conclude that "normal" people with advanced driving skills, or amateur racers. would turn in a time around Sentra;s 10:27. A fearless professional would likely be able to turn in a time close to my simulated time of 10:17, possible a bit better.

I ran a mid 12 min BTG in my s13 200sx and the turbo shook off about 2/3's around the ring. I ran a 10:01 BTG in a 2005 mini cooper S convertible. It really is a scary a** track but man is it fun.
