the ones you posted are fine. if anything they may be overkill and too bright, but just barely. just so you know though, blue is the least usable light, they output the least lumens. they look badass but they're kinda useless when you're trying to read something in your car

i'm using some weaker one's right now from superbrightleds.com, however i just purchased a new set from vled, i got the 5 smt leds http://v-leds.com/Exterior-LED....html and the same dome light bulb. i had 4xsmt led blue's in my maps before and they looked really nice, but very weak, i couldn't even read a map with those things. i've got a 9xled in my dome at the moment, that's one's bright but i'd still want it brighter, which is why i'm upgrading.

ya sure thing, however i'm getting them shipped to Canada so it won't be here for atleast another week. are you having an issue with some led's not firing up?? and none of them should stay on after the door closes, that's only an issue with non-surface mounted leds. my current map lights stay on a little bit because they're regular leds instead of the SMT. same with my dome. the one's we're looking at are all SMT's.

yea two of them in the dome light wont fire up. all my other ones are fine. the one that stays on has very very little light coming from it, but its just the thought of me knowing that bothers me.

return that bad boy asap! v-leds should refund any defective bulbs. just throw in your stock bulb until they send you a new one. you shouldn't have to settle for a defective bulb

no worries, always glad to help. i don't have any experience with led strips. however i would think that for the setup, all you would need it the strips, rocker switch, wires and a fuse. you can either wire them up so that they are wired right into the fuse panel via a fuse tap, or you can splice or t-tap into an existing wire coming from the fuse panel. however if you go the splice/tap into another wire route, make sure you have a fuse between the tap and the lights cause the current draw is probably going to be different.

Absolutely positively not. They use so little power even when they are on!

All of mine turn off with the exception of the center middle light that I have come on when the doors open. It glows very faint blue when the doors are not open.
