This may be a noob question but I've never owned nor worked on a turbcharged car before. I'm installing my kit and everything seems to be going fine till I get to the i/c piping. It seems that the discharge for my compressor is not in the right spot. It's sitting on top of the oil cap when it should be pointing straight down. Can I just loosen the compressor casing bolts and turn it 180?

It's called "clocking" the turbo...loosen bolts on the back of the compressor housing, and rotate.

Oh, and also...if you the turbo oil feed inlet is not directly on top, clock the chra (center housing rotating assembly) until it is, by loosening the bolts holding it to the turbine :)

The compressor has been "clocked". Thanks for the help, I feel like such a noob.

Haha, its cool...for the longest time I couldn't figure out what the heck people were taking about when they said they "clocked" the turbo or something. Then I got one and figured it out...cars are so hands on that you shouldn't feel like a noob because you didn't know how to clock it :) Ahhh....I am in a FANTASTIC mood right now!!!! I'll leave it at that :D

These kinds of threads make me feel good about what we do here. Help people out.Since the compressor housing is now clocked, Did you make sure to check the CHRA to see if the turbo oil feed inlet was directly on top? This is important to ensure that turbo's oil feed is unrestricted--this is most important for turbo longevity.

I think the chra is in the right place, here's a pic. It's a Nsport T04B-R, I don't know the specs but I do know that they modified the exhaust trim.

yep--looks good. The to4 b-r is a modified trim that spools at about 3500-4000. You can also get a ball bearing option from what I have read.

i didnt understand thats what you meant in your email, im glad you figured it out. get some heat wrap on the turbo or master cylinder too or it will be melting. the oil feed is right where it should be.

Structure: Thanks for the email and the pics, I was having some issues getting the i/c discharge pipe aligned. It's on now but I thought it would be better fitting than that. It's the exact same as your pic. Did you have to hack out your bumper support to fit the i/c?

plus i cut away some of the chassis tube things that stick out on each side. without doing this the i/c was about an inch too far up.
