I plan on installing a stage 1 nsport turbo kit soon and I was just wondering what kind of performance I can expect. Post your 1/4 mile et/mph, 0-60, what kinds of cars you spanked.... Lets hear some war stories.

I spanked everything in my area I raced when I was stage 1.... I never lost one race. Maybe the cars in my area just aren't as hooked up as elsewhere, but I beat a good amount of fast cars. The closest race I had was a newer style cobra (not supercharged) which runs a 13.1-13.2 at the track. I only had maybe half a car length on him when my speed limiter kicked in. He's one of my buddies so he was cool with it.

Unfortuantley I never got to race 1/4 with my ACT clutch, only on stock clutch at 5psi. I ran a 14.6 @ 99mph, so you can figure how that would equate with a launch, clutch, and the 9psi I was running before I built it.

Which act clutch are you using, I was thinking about the 6 puck race clutch. Any experience with that?

Now i've got the act street (heavy duty pressure plate). The Xtreme pressure plate was not available when I bought my clutch until a month later. I would go with the ACT with Xtreme pressure plate, even the heavy duty will be good up to 400.

Still not back up. Had to get another set of pistons and a new block, which go in on Monday.

O-rings didn't seal worth **** on the stock headgasket when they literally "fell down" in a couple spots. Well, it did seal on the HG in some area's, made a nice groove, but not in other areas. Especially on cylinder two:

Resulted in my new JE's with 600 miles on them to look like this:

New wiseco's:

One of em was out of balance by over 20 grams... Sent those back, got Ross:

So I've got a new block now, NOT O-ringed, just bored and honed 0.020 over. This will work.... this WILL WORK. :) Oh and, sueing the machine shop for their work. They won't pay for the JE pistons I lost.. But it will be f'n done for the final time if not this coming week, but the next. Just in time for Atlanta anyway.

Does the nsport kit provide a bung in the downpipe to fit the O2 sensor or do you think I should just get one of those plug in gadgets to fool the system instead of trying to retain it.

That's right baby!...hehe.

How is everything coming along? Did your block need a little more honing, or were you fine to drop the Ross' right in? Let me know...

Hey pornflakes, do you run ka24de.com? Its good to put a screen name with a url... I am workin my but off this summer trying to raise the money for a turbo kit but i think I am gona come up short of being able to build the engine up like I want it. I will just have to settle with stage 1 for now. When the funds do roll in I will go to you first.

It was honed today, he said they made room for the extra 0.003 Ross calls for compared to the wiseco's... So it will be assembled tomorrow and ready to be dropped back in on thursday. I doubt it gets done (motor installed) this week, shop is backed up. We'll see...

Dave, that's strange that the Wiseco's ask for such little clearance. No forged, low-silicon piston of that bore size should be installed with a clearance of less than 0.004".

Either way, that's good. You're lucky that the Wiseco's were bored for slightly smaller than the Ross pistons. Gives you some extra material to work with.
