Just picked up a 93 240sx s13, so decided to join the forums. I want to get a NRG quick release and a hub for it as well (the current steering wheel is in awful shape), but I have been hearing and reading a lot of different things. My question is what is the problem with having a different hub and quick release on a hicas car, and will disabling hicas without removing it affect anything?

Thanks

You'll need to get a hub that fits a HICAS model car. There's an extra sensor behind the steering wheel that reports the angle to the HICAS controller. Aftermarket hubs need to interact with that.

There are hubs out there designed for HICAS, just gotta look. I didn't see anything from NRG that stated it worked with HICAS, so you might need to contact the company to find a SKU number that will work.

If you decide to disable HICAS, you'll have to pull the steering angle sensor to fit your aftermarket hub, and then I really recommend either swapping the entire rear subframe to eliminate the HICAS steering rack, or to get HICAS eliminator toe rods for the rear.

The NRG hubs dont work on hicas cars. They wont physically fit because they dont have holes to accommodate the steering angle sensor. Like hijacker said, You have to get a hub that is made for hicas cars, or remove hicas.
