sorry 240 kids this wont fit

8V92tta Detroit diesel , 92 cubic inches per cylander, twin turbo and supercharged, 700+ hp and enough torque to make the world spin the other way

In this application the supercharger is nessesary to make the 2 cycle detroit run. The twin turbos are responsable for addtional power. The supercharger has to blow air into the cylanders as it devolpes no vaccum to suck in air on its own , this also aids in scavengeing . All 4 valves per cyalnder are for exaust , intake air comes in thru a port uncoverd by the piston . A early version of this engine spawaned the popular 671,471,871 blowers common in hotrodding V8s...

Thought you guys would like to see some of the stuff i work on sometimes .......

I thought the G-20 was based on the sentra...

Now back to the topic: I like that engine! I wondered if there were any good performance diesels out there. I can't imagine the torque that thing pushes.

Nope the g20 is based on the japanese market nisssan primera early on the only thing the car shared with sentra was the sr20de engine that from what ive heard was devolpeed for the primera , if it wasnt for the G20/primera the silvias would never have sr20s , the original sr20 came out in the 1990 primera as the sr20d a tbi like unit

for the p-10 chassis (usa-1991-1996 europe1990-1994))front suspension is a setup not unlike the 300zx with the main diffrnce being the passage made for the cv axel to pass thru , according to there literature the rear on the P10 was a skyline design , i guess diffrence there being no passage for cv axels since the primera wasnt rear drive , me neever seeing a skyline or its suspension i have no idea . it looks like a macpherson setup placed on a 10 degree angle towards the front

this car was availble in AWD atteza form in the primera T4

the 1999 + G20s got the multilink beam like sentra and maxima in the back to get more rear seat room and some other stuff , all desgn chages that europe got in 1995 (chassis code p-11) we got in 1999 yahoozna can exlain this car more than i cannt p-11s in japan had sr20ves with cvt trannys and others i belive had 6 speeds , while we made due with sr20s with 4 speed automatics and 5 speed manuals , the engine was now rollerized too ....

altimas had machpherson all the way around like sentras till 1994 , why nissan made 3 completely diffrent similar size cars is beyond me , i think that kinda thinking is what got them in trouble

FWD nissans :sentra = sunny altima= U12 bluebirdG20= primeraI30= maxima overseas model

theres a couple of Semi's that run 15 second 1/4 mi , the single turbo version of that engine gets our p-23 firetruclk (40,000lbs ) up to 85-90 mph . deisels are big in eurpe where they race semis on racetracks before F1 races , mercedes has ususly beent he ones to beat , on these rigs the brakes get so hot that water has to be sprayed ont he rotors to keep them cool and working right

How is the reliability of that engine in a truck? 2 turbos and a supercharger... seems like a lot of extras that can break down.

Diesels are known for longevity, but I'd question having three forced induction pieces myself.

My7 older brother is a foreman at I-10 International, and on the weekends (ever since I can remember) he's been crew chief for the 1/4 mile team his shop sponsors. I'll have to ask him what those things are running.

I got to drive one of the newer Aero rigs last year... WOW!

the detriots last 6,000 hours or 2 years , they run all winterlong at a constant 3,000 rpms (redline around 4k) only time they stop is for about 5 hours a night , only thing that kills them is all the ash in the air as there in a macine that spreads ash on the road and plows the runway .......
