The engine buzzing is gone and the engine has a deeper groan to it.

I have to say that engines seem to be reacting differently to break-in. A couple people have noted noticeable fuel economy gains, you've stated it's not as buzzy anymore... when mine got to about 7k miles, it felt quite a bit more responsive and lost 10% of its fuel economy. Go figure.

i have 6070 miles and its definately lost fuel economy, and I am still shifting the same as I did when i bought it, never rev over 3000, or let the rpms ever go over 4000 while driving

I'm at 6430 and I've noticed the same thing. It's got a pretty nice sound to it, but I haven't noticed a loss in fuel eco. When I find the right intake, I suspect it will make my V growl even more. I put a cheap ebay intake on my truck. I think the cheap construction allowed engine noise to radiate back through the tube. Which caused an even deeper/louder engine growl. After that, you can't say you didn't hear me coming.

I can't say that I've never taken it over 3k. I almost redlined yesterday. An 07 Maxima didn't want to let me over, so I tried to beat him. He had the same idea at the exact time, so we became 2 idiots fighting to be the king of the lane. Any who, the V hung with the Maxima (very surprisingly). When I saw the 3.5L sticker on the back (after I realized my lane would end soon) I thought, " That thing should've been pulling away from me. I was actually gaining on him " I was in a man and he was in an auto. I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Mine's about to hit 14,000 and I haven't noticed any change in sound. (I have the CVT and only get up to 3500rpm occasionally. At 3000rpm and 75mph it's still hard to hear the engine, even though the car is very quiet.)

The mileage did drop 1-2mpg when the gas companies changed over to their winter formulation, but that was expected and should reverse in the spring.
