Crap, crap, crap! I just fixed (or thought I did) the #2 fuel injector last month. I cranked her up after a couple of weeks and she was misfiring again. I plulled all the plug wires one by one again and sure enough it was #2. I took her out for a spin just to see how bad the problem was and she started blowing smoke. Not horribly white but close enough. :frown:

I have a couple theories but would appreciate any insight.

Thanks guys.

Maybe it wasn't entirely the injector. Maybe the plug wire/distributor issue as well?

Try to re-seat the injector. Chances are the o-ring didn't seal quite right and you're getting some fuel leakage... too much fuel into the cylinder can get you white smoke.

^True, could have cut/torn the o-ring when installing as well.

Oh get it fixed and come to the cookout meet we are having in Greensboro next month. :)

I'll try reseating the injector. Of course I killed the old one taking it out so I'll have to be gentle this time. It ran great after installing the replacement injector so I wonder why it would suddenly start acting up. BUT, I'll gladly take an injector problem to a cylinder problem.

Loos like I killed both O-rings putting the new injector in. It worked fine for a while but it's obvious they are both cut. I'll replace them today and hopefully that will fix things. Thanks guys.
