Notice: New Nissan TSB related to CVT transmission

Nissan has just released a TSB for the Altima, Sentra, and Rogue equipped with the QR25DE 4cyl motor and CVT transmission. Read more below.

This TSB does not mean there is something wrong with your vehicle. It only indicates a service procedure if the problem occurs. It likely does not affect all models.

Please be patient while I try to procure the TSB and find out what it's about.

NTB09044 - SB Nissan; MIL ON With P0840/P0845 And P0710IF YOU CONFIRM: An applied vehicle has CVT Fluid that is discolored and / or has unusual odor. AND The MIL is ‘ON’ with DTCs P0840 and / or P0845 stored in CONSULT III / ENGINE and / or TRANSMISSION. OR The MIL is ‘ON’ and P0710 is stored in CONSULT III / ENGINE and / or TRANSMISSION. P0710 may be stored with P0840 and / or P0845. NOTE: The vehicle may also have reduced performance during acceleration. ACTIONS: Check the vehicle’s Transmission Control Module (TCM) part number (P/N). If the TCM P/N is listed in the Current TCM P/N list on page 11, the service procedure in this bulletin applies. If the TCM P/N is not on the Current TCM P/N list, this bulletin does not apply. Refer to the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnosis. See this bulletin for further detail.

This bulletin appears to provide a repair procedure if a specific problem/fault code is found. It does not appear to be related to the CVT rattle issues or indicate any potential problems with vehicles that are operating normally.
