Nothing works until I turn the key....

Everything was working fine on the car until last week, when I went to hook another cd player up in the car. There used to be an alarm hooked up in the car so there were alot of wires and I didnt want to mess with it b/c I didnt know what all the wires went to, I put all the wires and stuff back in and now nothing works unless the key is on.

The seatbelts dont open and close and the clock doesnt come on unless the key is in the ignition and turned on, also the cd player doesnt work at all now. Also, before, when I left the key in the igniton and opened the door it made a beeping sound(tellin me the key was in the ignition still) you know the ding..ding..ding. Well it doesnt do that anymore either. What could possibly be wrong, Im thinking some wire came unplugged maybe, it looked like mess, every connection was done with electrical tape so it was really messy. Maybe a fuse blew of something? Anybody have any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It can be a lot of things. I'd focus on all the things you had messed with that led to the problem in the first place. A wiring diagram and a multimeter can be your best ally here.
