I dont think you will get that much money. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but be realistic. You might just get something within the $30-50K. That is if and only IF you win. Plus they will probably try to settle this outside of court.

I'm not saying that 30-50k is not a lot of money, but not as much as some people might think you would get.

WHAT? For no damage being done? Dude, please!

Besides, how you gonna prove it was there?

Did you guys see the guy here in Phx who found a frog in his frozen peas? LOL - They showed it on TV. That guy didn't get s*** (except an apology and some coupons - for MORE frozen peas!!) HAHAHAHA

.......wow....more frivolous lawsuits. Just what we need.

While eating a maggot is gross yes, it will not kill or harm you in any way. And whose to say healthy choice is to blame? Maybe the grocerey store left them out of the freezer then just through them back in after they sat out in the sun for a while. heh....

And one time I found this syringe in my Pepsi can...and this other time I got a chicken's head instead of a chicken McNugget. And this other time, I slipped on some coffee that was on the floor of a Wal-Mart...that I spilled. Need I go on?

I agree with GodDrivesA240sx. If you're looking for a quick buck, you will not find it suing people anymore. There are laws against filing frivilous lawsuits. Plus, I don't think you would find much luck getting any legal firm to back you in court either.

Back in the day when I was a kid, everyone in the south recycled “Coke bottles” Another big thing in the south was using these coke bottle to spit tobacco in. Long story short my mom bought a Coke with used tobacco in the bottom! EEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW She did not drink it!

One time I bought a reese’s cup and there were MAGGOTS but I noticed them right away!

I had circuit city install my amp for me since I didn't want to drill a hole in the firewall. Well a few months later I was switching out the amps and when I unbolted it I heard a pssssssssst followed by the smell of gas....holding a live wire in my hand. Yeah thanks a lot circuit city ;) So instantly I'm like wtf these retards drilled a hole into my gas tank. I just went up there and showed them and they appolgized and then the DM (district manager) called me and appologized and refunded my money and gave me 100 dollars over the quoted price to get it fixed. No need for lawyers, just a little business talk :yesnod

Of course everyone I told wanted me to sue them for millions, maybe I'm just too lazy to get all the **** done about it

Well, I have pics of the maggot in the meal ... AND after that incident my girlfriend is terrefied of frozen dinners (and wont eat any ever again), and she was sick all night, she didnt sleep and she was puking (when I told them that, they were very worried); And if we wont win then we gonna go to every major news paper and website and submit our story (even go online and post it everywhere) ..... I dont think they would want that, it would hurt they business BIG TIME.

We got nothing to lose :)

Yea , rip them off huh (I got nothing better to do huh) .... when I called them, they asked me ALL the details about the meal, the box # and such (yea like 20 # on the side of the box) .. I answered EVERYTHING with out 1 second of hesitation(sp?) ..... they are ****ed ... either we get a very nice compensation or they gonna get a VERY bad publicity and I dont think they would want that.

Best of luck. I just hope they don't file a counter-suit for defamation due to all the bad publicity you've given them. I can guarantee they have deeper pockets than you have.

That means absolutley nothing. Wow, now you're a prepared dude who's looking to rip them off ;) They have to file those claims in the computer to keep up with them, and to know if a recall is nesscersary<sp> If it turns out a batch with certain lot #'s are infected with maggots then you could be part of a small class action lawsuit, but don't expect thousands/millions. People all over the world consider maggots a deliqucey<sp> Now if you got a meal infected with ebola then yes you could get billions. Or if it had a jagged metal krusty O in it you could get 500 dollars. :)

You won't get close to 50K. My best guess would be 10K. I sued a restaurant for serving me a muffin with my meal that contained nuts, even though I asked TWICE if it had any, because I'm allergic. I even said the phrase: "Are, you sure? I'm DEATHLY allergic to nuts." The response was 'no', I ate it, went to the hospital with full blow anaphylactic shock. Anyone want to take a stab at what I got?

$7,500; settled out of court.

The legal system in this country protects the business, and not the consumer/person wronged. Don't think you'll get that much.

Of course I wish you luck, but don't be disappointed if you don't get that much. I don't think maggots have ever killed anyone (they just people that have already been killed, hehehe).

Nick.

Whoa, I hate to make one of my first posts in a topic like this, but I hate seeing this kind of crap even more.

You keep saying that you have nothing to lose, but you're not looking at the big picture. Take the medical industry as an example. At least half of a doctor's salary goes to malpractice insurance. Who do you think that cost gets passed on to? The consumer. The doctor is still going to get the money that they need to cover their time and expenses of getting their education.

If it wasn't for petty lawsuits like this, then everything in the U.S. would be considerably cheaper then it is now. But like you said, you've got nothing to lose.
