1997 J30t, 140k miles. Bought used, with no keyless entry fob.

I bought a keyless fob, didn't work. Bought new battery didn't work. Bought another keyless control unit (the computer thingy that goes in the trunk) and tried that, didnt work.

Bought another keyless entry fob, tried it and it didn't work.

I tried every combination (auto lock doors, pop truck, more than 10 times in and out, manually unlock and lock door, hit button) and nothing ever happens.

I'm guess there is some kind of electrical problem? But nothing else is wrong with it.

Can anyone help before I give up and use my j30 without its noble keyless entry? (I am mostly doing this for resale value, so please dont say i'm lazy. . . !)

Only thing I can think of is replacing the keyless entry control module. It's the transmission receiver for the remote and basically the relay point for the lock actuators.

I would then re-program the remotes.

If your Key fob FCC ID and the trunk remote module don't match up within a certain range (which only dealers know) you won't get anything out of it.. It is going to be tough.. Easier to install an aftermarket unit.

You probably bought the wrong remote.

I was looking for replacement keyless entry remotes not too long ago and I found a site that had them really cheap for my 99 I30 and 94 J30.

I had them delivered in less than a week and the programming instructions only took maybe 10 seconds?

Anyways, here's a link to the site:

Just click the Infiniti category, or type J30 in their search box.

No, it is the correct remote -- the same FCC ID exactly as the html link above.
