I think I went up against one of the new E or CLS Class Mercedes Coupe on the highway, we were doing about 60 side by side then punched it and well, I got obliterated by prolly 4-5 car lengths. It didn't help either that I accidentally switched into manual mode from CVT, lol. I had no idea most of those things have at least 380+ hp.

probably was a E550 coupe... if it was the E350 coupe (looks exactly the same) it would have been a good race

Yeah, I saw the E350 has the exact same specs as the 3.5. Only issue is that it's a whopping 3,925 pounds. I do have Bullydog Tune+Nismo Exhaust+AEM Intake so I think I should have taken him easily had he been a 350. So he had to have been the 550 and the only reason I stayed close was due to the weight differential I believe. I tried to get beside him again to try it again but he exited the highway, good thing he did because around the next corner po po was sitting!!!

those things are quick. my dad has a 2003 E500 with 302 HP and it does a 14.2 stock. and his is the sedan that like 4,000 or 4,100 pounds. so the 2 door E550 with 380 HP should be insane... i think they do low 13's stock.

the new 86 won't do anything close to that in stock form and you know it

take any 2000 lb car and strap a rocket to it, I'm sure it would do the same thing... you and this 86 ... put your money where your mouth is, sell you A/c and buy an 86 when it finally comes out... PLEASE

lol I didn't say the new one would do anything close to that in stock form lol. that one is a highly modified sprinter trueno, with a 2JZ swap from a supra and with maybe 700hp or more. the new one with the subaru boxer engine will have great potential but not like the 2JZ engine. and it won't be as light as the old one. it's more a spiritual successor but yeah as soon as I get to see the production version and the specs are still more appealing to me than the new golf-R or the subaru Sti then i'll buy it!

I forsee many altima coupe owners trading in their cars in the next two years for something with a little more kick.... or for CVT owners, for something with a more reliable transmission

my coupe will see its last days in 2012 as I will trade her in for something bigger and better, and sexier.. . right now, at the top of my list is the Mercedez E550 coupe ... the price is perfect , and its just enough of a horsepower kick in the pants for me and my needs.... ahh, only two more years... good things come to those who wait...I can see/hear it now...

Me it's not about mercs being ugly at all, I loved the CLS when it first came out and the DTM mercs are AWESOME. Also the old gen SL amg was soo sweet with its retractable hardtop and its svelte coupe look. CLK BLACK series was godlike too. My only problem with Mercedes was that they NEVER OFFERED A FREAKING MANUAL TRANSMISSION! only cheap as C class BASE models had it because its cheap as hell.

da*n, i can't even argue with this...

but then again, maybe street racing wouldn't be weak if I were driving a turbo Altima with an AWD swap from a Murano... but who would ever come up with an idea like that ... and then never follow through...hmmmm

I would argue that lying about mods for your car is weak, and is kinda like lying on your d*** ... but hey, that's just me...

sorry mehdi, I think you just got

mcheddadi wrote:and basically it's doable to swap out the rear sub assembly since its designed for the same plaform (D platform) as our altima and since every unit from the AWD is stand alone or receives signals from sensors already present in my vdc equiped altima it souldn't be too hard. I can do 50/50 torque transfers like a haldex awd unit. should handle like a subaru or volvo but not like an audi with its torsen awd.
mcheddadi wrote:none since its going to be turbocharged
mcheddadi wrote:i'm going to be selling lots of stuff to finance all this.
mcheddadi wrote:well were removing the subframe and adding a heavier one so with the rear driveshaft plus the awd box plus the differential at the front plus the murano subframe im guessing 300 lbs
mcheddadi wrote:Do I have access to a good fabricator: not really lol, going to have to buy tools and a welder.Do I have lots of mechanical experience: nope lol this is going to be all firsts for me

for the drive shaft I'm just going to use the exhaust tunel and for the driveshaft and for the exhaust, I know someone who can do me a custom exhaust that will be like the one on dodge vipers that come out the side, but I'll try to do custom one.
Sooo, how's that turboaltirano coming along?????

lol no. the E550 has 385 hp or something like that. even with an intake the E550 has 100 MORE hp. the thing is a beast. not to mention torque, its like 400 pounds of tq and the 3.5se has 258 pounds of tq lol i love my 3.5se altima coupe but i'm willing to admit that the E550, CLS550, would win.

385hp/392tq... Even if I got y-pipe+pulley I'd still be left behind. Boosting is the only way to beat em I suppose... OH well.

well I didn't LIE ABOUT MODS I HAD. I wanted a turbo and awd that is true, but I didn't say "hey I got it done, I finally have turbo and awd!" which then would have been lieing about mods I didn't have. theres a BIG difference there. all the old timey guys know it but if you go on telling that i'm a liar all the noobs will belive it too

I know its all in good fun its too easy to go at it on people you know too well lol. and yeh you NEED to come to carlisle. I want to see yo face to face! homies ftw!
