Stock Note SV shut off twice while on the highway on Monday after work. There was a significant rain event lasting the whole 30 minute trip. Is there a safety switch in the intake that shuts the car down to protect the engine? When I tried to restart it both times the tach gauge would show max rpms and then the car would die. My other thought was water in the alternator causing a short.

Nope, no switch. Check for water intrusion into your crank and cam sensor connections.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is it odd that it didn't throw a code?

One missed tooth on the cam or crank can cause a stall. The ECM's are only good at detecting flatlined sensors, not malfunctioning ones. So CMP's and CKP's are frequently the cause of "mystery stall" issues with no codes.
