notchtop sr wont start

hey ive got a question i think i know the answer to but would old gas keep my sr20 from starting or would it just make it run like s*** and if so how would u get the old gas out half a tank btw. cause my car ran fine when it was parked (sr was already in it) to do a conversion to it but now i cant seem to get it to start at all i hear the fuel pump come on and u can smell the gas when it turning over it just wont crank the car has been sitting for like 4 or 5 months though any help would be great and thanks.
