A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I have a question. Got an 04 spec v with a whole slew of mods but only 177whp on my last dyno. Now I can't give you the whole list ( not enough time.), but here are some. JWT: cams, vavle springs, flywheel, EB removal kit, UR crank pulley, Nismo: headers, cai, cat back, Apexi sacf2, gr wires etc...I'm thinking that maybe it's the knock sensor screwing up the timing, but can it cause me to loose that much power. I would think that I should at least be at 185whp. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Sounds about right for the mods. I/H/E normally around 165... add in cams puts you right around where you need to be. If you knock sensor is detecting something whether detonation or sounds of detonation, then yes it will tell the ecu to cut fuel and pull timing. You have around 27 more whp than a stock spec V.

Many Specs dyno as low as 135-140whp stock, so 177 with those mods isn't unreasonable. Most people agreed when it came out that Nissan overestimated the power figures to make the it look better on paper.

Sounds about right to me. Besides, 185 is a good amount compared to stock.

I\H\E = ~15whpSafc (tuned) = ~8 whpCams= ~8 whppullies = ~1/2 whpGr wires = 1/16 whp

so if you dyno at about 140-145 ish stock your about par for the course

there is a reason that 200whp is a magic number and so hard to obtain for N/A 02-06 SpecVs.

thanks for the replies. I just got home and plan on doing some work(relocate ks, oil change 5qts instead of 6, and put nology wires back on) then dyno it again. hopefully the results will be a little better.
