I ran at the track tonite and i was launching pretty good, getting 2.3 60' foot times. But i can't get below a 15.3. I am trapping at 93-94 mph. A friend of mine with almost the exact same setup ran a 15.2 with almost a 3 second quarter mile time.

Also, occassionally my car drives like it has a boost leak...it doesnt really want to move to quickly. But my gauge reads a full 7 psi. My only guess so far would be that my timing is off... Hopefully i can check that this weekend. Any thing else i should look for? Thanks very much all, and sorry for the long post

entire post is really confusing me, what you mean your friend has a 3 second 1/4 mile time, Why you be talking about a boost leak, what kind of turbo motor only runs a 15.3. why is that the fastest trap speed ive ever seen in a 15.3 1/4 mile pass.

If you do have a boost leak, then you will still get 7psi of boost, because the wastegate won't open until its source of pressure (usually at the intake manifold) reaches 7psi. So if you have a boost leak, then the turbo will just keep spinning and spinning and leaking air somewhere until it reaches 7psi. So, in theory, if you have a bad enough boost leak, the turbo could be putting out, say, 15 or 16 psi, even thought you're only seeing 7 at the engine.

This is a little bit of an extreme case, cause your car probably wouldn't run if that happened. But, you get the point. Boost leaks are bad and they kill your performance real quick. Even a tiny one will lead to all sorts of weird running problems. Pressure test your intake system and find those leaks!

The wrx runs a 14.4 1/4 mile, and traps at 95 miles an hour. So yeah his trap speed is that bad. Thats crazy just crazy talk, 15.3, 94 mile a hour trap speed.:bsflag sorry. I'm being rude. How about the nissan pathfinder, it runs Q/m in15.5@89mph, not bad for a 5274lbs suv

Yeh, i just don't get it. Like a 2.3 second 60' time should yeild a better 1/4 mile then 15.3 So i am going to check the timing. I am also running very rich...i don't know if that is because my timing is off(if thats possible) But i plan to get an AFC or something. Any other ideas?
